It is no longer about FCP, it is about APPLE and how they act as a company. So you cannot rely on them anymore, it is as simple as that. You see - even if Apple restored EVERY SINGLE ONE of the missing features from FCP7 tomorrow, the stark reality is that you now know that Apple is capable of doing this to you again, 2 years, 3 years, or 5 years down the track. As a long-time (11 years) user of FCP, the reality is that Apple have showed users who rely on their product that they are not worthy of such trust. I won't repeat what so many others have said about this new release, just point out something to those people who want to give a pass to Apple for this debacle. Ironically, it was Apple's desire to make this product future-proof that has made some people assume that they are not interested in its future development.
